TYPHOON MARING

       The typhoon "Maring" battered the entire Philippines for four successive days since Sunday July 18, that caused a massive flooding in Metro Manila and other provinces and killed at least 15 people and leaving a huge damage specially on thousands of families. The storm signals on the Luzon which authorities have meanwhile declared suspension of classes on the areas affected by floods and landslides. The authorities declared that there are no classes on all level entire the Benguet which it makes me happy, but suddenly some of my friends said that Baguio is not part of Benguet which makes me confused and mad so we need to wait for further announcement of the city mayor early in the morning 5am. So I need to wake up early even though it's cold. Upon waking up it was confirmed that there are no classes on all levels entire Baguio City, this makes me happy and safe. Due to strong winds and heavy poured of rain the electricity in the city was shut down. If the electricity is out I can't be productive enough to make my assignment and projects since I am a computer science student I need an electricity to do my stuff. I think of other ways so that I wouldn't be bored at home, so I decided to go out and play in the rain and buy food to cook. I am not good at cooking, because of my boredom I tried to cook. I invited my friends to come in my house and celebrate the birthday of my girlfriend so we cook and do some sweets. This makes my girlfriend happy. The day is over so I need to sleep all night long and wonder if there is a class tomorrow. So I need to wake up early in the morning to be updated, I wonder why our city mayor didn'y announce it in advance so that our sleep would not be bothered. It's monday in the morning and it's still raining and ask my mother if we have classes and she replied that we have classes. I doubted if I will attend my class or not, since I don't have something to do I attend my class. When I'm in the town I realize that UC is the only university that has a class. This made the students angry. The authorities of UC had a meeting if they will cancel the class or not and surprisingly they suspend our class. The next day the rain is not that heavy so we need to attend our class and they announced that the storm signal is lowered to signal 1 from signal 3. It was wednesday that typhoon Maring is now away from the Philippines. My life as a student goes on.

    Though the word media is plural, the term is often used as a singular noun.
Interactive media is related to the concepts interaction design, new media, interactivity, human computer interaction, cyberculture, digital culture, and includes specific cases such as, for example, interactive television, interactive narrative, interactive advertising, algorithmic art, videogames, social media, ambient intelligence, virtual reality and augmented reality.
An essential feature of interactivity is that it is mutual: user and machine each take an active role (see interaction). Most interactive computing systems are for some human purpose and interact with humans in human contexts. Manovich complains that ‘In relation to computer-based media, the concept of interactivity is a tautology. .... Therefore, to call computer media “interactive” is meaningless – it simply means stating the most basic fact about computers.’. Nevertheless the term is useful to denote an identifiable body of practices and technologies.
Interactive media are an instance of a computational method influenced by the sciences of cybernetics, autopoiesis and system theories, and challenging notions of reason and cognition, perception and memory, emotions and affection.
Any form of interface between the end user/audience and the medium may be considered interactive. Interactive media is not limited to electronic media or digital media. Board games, pop-up books, gamebooks, flip books and constellation wheels are all examples of printed interactive media. Books with a simple table of contents or index may be considered interactive due to the non-linear control mechanism in the medium, but are usually considered non-interactive since the majority of the user experience is non-interactive reading.

It is 7:30 when our instructor told that we are qualified to join the International Conference to be held at Far East University – East Asia, Sampaloc Manila. Our team decided to join the conference and present our game which we entitled “Interactive Psychological Profiling Game”. Our team members are Jan Miko Marzan – Programmer, Konrad Henrick Berran – Project Leader, Judelyn Balikid – Designer, Mark Masilungan – Documenter, John Farnican – Tester and I as a System Analyst. It is Friday morning when our instructor that our game is accepted on the conference, but our group is not fully supported by the school. Our team had encounter financial problems so, Mark Masilungan and Judelyn Balikid didn’t attend the conference. We need to contribute our own money, because the registration fee is 500 pesos and 1000 for the fair. Our instructor – Thelma Palaog went with us to guide us. The conference is scheduled on March 29, 2012 at 7:30 am, so we need to travel on Thursday night. It is Thursday night the schedule of our conference, so we met at Gate 1 of University of the Cordilleras we are 5 groups to exhibit our output. We travel at exactly 11:00pm and arrived at Manila around 6am and had a breakfast at McDonalds. After we finished our breakfast we change our clothes, because we need to be in our formal attire. We went to FEU and sign up for the registration at 8am then they gave us the program of the Conference. All of us went inside their theater and we are all amazed, because their theater is so big and the environment is amazing. The group of masters in Information Technology is on the 5^th performer on stage. The conference started with a prayer and sang the FEU Hymn after that the board of members had spoken with their welcome address. We are amazed on the project of the Holy Angel University of Tarlac their project is the wheel chair but it is not ordinary wheel chair, because you can control the wheel chair by using your mind. After they presented their projects we ate our snacks and transfer at the 5^th floor of the building and task to present our project inside the classroom. It’s 2pm at the afternoon when we started to exhibit our project. Miko and Konrad will be the speakers for our project. All of them had a very good game, because I think they had a good laboratories and intelligent instructors. We went around the campus of the FEU and we are amazed, because of their MAC Lab wherein it is full of Macintosh computers. After we had finished roam around we decided to go home. We departed at around 6pm and stop at Marquee Mall of Pampanga to have a dinner at Mang Inasal and buy some goods. Final the adventure is finished and we arrived at 1am at the University of the Cordilleras.

This is my script for a radio advertising. I made this just for fun and for my own grades. This Time Machine is just my own creation of out of my thoughts, but because I want to travel and do adventure I think of this Time Machine. Enjoy! 

What is Digital Arts and Animation?

    Digital Arts and Animation is for artistic works that uses digital technology like computers and tablets. From the word arts it includes painting, drawing and music by means of technology. This will prepare us students in creating artworks at the professional level. Digital Art is a term applied to contemporary art that uses any of digital technologies.

   Digital Arts and Animation is related to my course Bachelor of Science in Computer Science major in Digital Arts and Animation, because we need to understand how our track target a specific sector to our course. My course is also about digital which in we are also capable on doing 2D and 3D animation. Computer Science focuses on computer graphics emphasize real-world applications, this subject can help in doing this designs and improve it.
 
   This subject also guarantee the future by using the our abilities to create excellent artworks for our clients which is we are highly paid. There is a big role of Digital Arts and Animation in the industry of education,business, and entertainment that can help other people in doing their work. We are are living in the world of multimedia and in the future world everything will be now digital.
When I graduate, I will be industry-ready and widely recognized as well rounded in my experience, skills and abilities

Learning Contract

       

    I am Mark John B. Bacagan currently enrolled at University of the Cordilleras and my expectations for my subject (Digital Arts and Animation) is to learn the basic tricks and tips on animating and designing using different software. I am also expecting a good relationship with our instructor, because having a good relationship with the instructor is very helpful for us students this can boost up our confidence.
 In this subject can contribute my best in order to do my duty as a student. I will persevere and respect my instructor and my classmates. I can't achieve anything in this subject without anyone motivating me. I am motivated because of my family they are the one who sent me in this school and take good care for me. I don't want to disappoint them so I am doing my best shot. My instructor also is my motivation, because when he is motivated to teach us we are also motivated to listen and do what he is telling to do. There are also prevention that prevent me on achieving this subject like financial problem, it is one of the major problem for us student. Natural disaster is also a hindrance for me, because this is a major adverse event resulting from natural processes of the Earth; for example flood, severe weather, volcanic eruptions, and earthquakes.
